My lungs are still salty My lungs are still salty From that time I tried to drown in the sea, To see if you would Or anyone would Try to rescue me. But I only found That sink or swim, I have to do it on my own. There is no lifeguard Who will dive in, And hold your head above water When your heart is breaking. I still remember The salty burn in my lungs, As I thought they would collapse In the panic. I faced the choices Sink until the pain dies Along with my body. Or fight and struggle Through the searing ache In hopes of finding new breathe. My Heart is a Shipwrecked BoatMy heart is a shipwrecked boat, Torn on the rocks of misplaced love. My sides are gapping with holes, The water comes flooding in, Sinking me deeper and deeper, Into a rough and sandy grave. Wind tosses about The remains of my war-torn frame. I struggle helplessly to float, Despite my sinking doom. My sails, like broken wings, Are shredded into jagged pieces. I can't fight the current any longer, And gently sink into the frozen blue. I Watch You Sail Out to SeaI watch you sail out to sea,
There is nothing I can do To stop you from leaving me. You decline in the distance. It began with your keen mind, Which faded until it was gray. Senses became undefined, Your heart longed for the sea. Then I saw it in your eyes, Clouds floating around behind Your unvocalized goodbyes, Said in tones determined. Long before you boarded the boat You were making your exile, With a distant soul afloat Your anchor was the last cord. As the line of sight grows dim With just the outline of you, Like the dying chords of a hymn You are never coming back to shore. Silently mourning my loss Hoping to see you again, Fearing reality is cross And will cheat us in the end.
