I heard the talons of the messenger hawk screeching at the door. As I walked towards the door I could feel the vibrations of ground as the large bird flew away. I opened the door the atmosphere-felt silent a rare sight to see. Before the war of the worlds begun, life was so peaceful and tranquil. Now the word was full of destruction and chaos at every turn. I looked down and picked up the medium sized metal box. I felt the energy emanating from within.
I wanted to open the metal box; even though I knew what it contained can wreak havoc. My powers were still undeveloped; I sat next to it my eyes fixed on it. I wanted to touch it. Its energy was pulled me in, before I knew it my right hand moved towards the box. As I put my hand over it I could feel energy pulsating from inside. I moved my hand closer “Ouch” I felt a forceful pinch. I quickly pulled my hand but it was to late the box had already opened.
I felt a burst of energy as the box opened. My hands hot like a pot of boiling water. A blue light beamed from within the box. The box started to spin uncontrollably “What! Stop! Stop! I screamed. I took a step back, the whole table shaking. The picture frames on wall trembled at least two fell on the ground. I looked all around everything seemed to be moving. Then all of a sudden everything stopped. My breathing so loud, like if I had ran a marathon. I covered my face with my hands; I felt the burn on my hand as I pressed on my cheek. ‘What did I do!” I told myself as moved my hands away from my face. I heard a loud click as I looked at the box; a large three-dimensional map emerged from the box.
I could feel my heart beat pounding vigorously. It took me a moment to find myself again. “Calm down! Sarah Calm down!” If I weren’t so nervous I would probably be enjoying the marvelous sight to be seen. After I regained my strength, looked up at the map. The map was detailed with all the villages in all the different worlds in the universe. The highly detailed map could be the key to winning the never-ending war with the kings’ army. Taking a closer look at the map, I realized it was more then just a map. It was filled with the secret passages and tunnels used by our ancestors. This could only mean one thing, it was sent by the master ancestor.
The map was so visually captivating I wanted to touch it. I was still in pain from the initial burn, my hand moved towards the map. “Wow’ I said I could feel the energy as it flowed through my veins. The feeling was amazing; I have never felt this way before in my life. Considering I always felt like the underdog, watching all the others effectively use their powers. This time it’s my turn and I felt powerful.
As I touched each village on the map, a more detailed image appeared. “ What the hell” the secret passages started to run from the map on to my arms. I tried to move my arms but the energy didn’t allow me. My arms glowed as the secret passages kept transferring on my arm. Deep down I knew I should have been scared, but for some strange reason I finally felt like belonged. All of a sudden the box closed abruptly, some how I managed to pull my arms out the way. I checked my arms nothing I turned them around. Still nothing “what just happened” I was in shock.
I stumbled as I got up. I ran to the bathroom I washed my face and hands closing my eyes. I opened my eyes both my arms illuminated, the secret passages started to running all my through my arms. Now I knew my purpose. I grabbed my sword from the close and walked to the door. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I opened the door looking at all destruction around me. I knew I was ready the war had already begun but my battle had just started. I held the key to defeat the king’s army in my hands and no one would stop me.
