Kimberth D. Obeso is a literary researcher, essayist, and poet from Cebu, Philippines. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English-literature degree at Cebu Normal University. His literary studies and essays have appeared in different journals locally and internationally, including Grin Publishing, Asia Pacific Journal of Education, Arts and Sciences, and International Journal of Social Science and Humanities Research. He became a contributor to the Elite and Drama Society and Ang Suga Publication. He attended and became one of the organizers of Mugna Creative Writing Workshop.

An Ode to My Beloved Inamorata

​You ask for the whole watery World
My heart covets to give you the gaseous gargantuan Galaxy
But, my hands only confer  you the lusty  lavish land
 
You ask for the pleasant peaceful Paradise
My heart desires to bestow you the harmonious heavenly Heaven
But, my hands only afford you the specific secretly Spirit
 
You have the circular Crown
I have my clubbable Clock
You hate my timeless  Time
But, I have your honest Heart.
 

Childish Affection

Romantic, Transitory
Stimulating, adoring, captivating
Suddenly and  gradually fade
Puppy
 
 
 

Feeling
​

​Long lost soul
Found foul foil
Teary teensy ten-eighty
Sweaty scary scenery
Dismantled
Dismembered
Died
Roughly.
 

The tale of the rain
​

​Millions of grains are falling
Like horses on the roof
Keeps on clanging
Keeps on weeping proof
To be its stand-in will be my calling
Feel the presence of my pain
And I will do my crying in the rain.

Dreadful numbers
​

​Morgue 144 (I hate this)
White cloth above the cold blood
Halt!
tattooed skin 13342 (I did not mean it)
Take off. Take off.
Alteration erupts.
Lips are sour.
Godly eyes-oh, no- It will never open again

Cop: Don’t sob!
Bars are waiting
One last cry
One last glance
