Amber Laurice Jones has started her journey to advance her writing capabilities as her dream is to become a novelist. She's now twenty years-old and she's been enrolled at Full Sail University for eight months. StrangersJoanna Fairchild is a singer and dancer. She doesn’t trust others easily, which often leaves her in binding situations. Take tonight, as an example:
Joanna got into an argument with her director because he told her that she doesn’t rely on others enough and is too stubborn. But, she refused any help from him and rushed out of the building angrily. Joanna had only realized how vulnerable she was once she noticed that she was lost. She left her phone in the building so she has no way to call for help, and her performance took place in an area that she is very unfamiliar with. She walks until she finds a 24-hour gas station but there’s no one around since it’s late. After what seemed to be hours of waiting around aimlessly, Joanna spots a black truck pulling into the gas station. Out of the truck steps a burly middle-aged man. The man is purchasing gas, minding his own business but everything about him seems creepy. Joanna decides to walk up to the man and ask to use his phone. The man’s voice is low and groggy as he answers. “I don’t have one. The only thing I need is my truck. If you’re stuck out here Miss then I can give ya a lift.” “Who doesn’t have a phone these days?!” Joanna thought to herself. If not for that, she would have been home easily by now. There was no way she’d get in the car with a creepy man like this one! But, this is still an unfamiliar area, she has no phone, and it’s dark… After a hefty sigh, Joanna finally gave in. She gets into the truck with the man and after giving him an address she sits silently just wanting this whole thing to be over she starts thinking… Why didn’t she just listen to the director? Suddenly, man said, “Here ya go, Miss.” That ride wasn’t longer than five minutes but Joanna thanks the man and quietly leaves. Apparently, as Joanna walked after calming down, she had already begun walking back towards the studio without realizing it. However, it was very nice of that man to help her out and she changed her perspective a little bit about receiving help from others. After safely making her way back into the building, Joanna and her director have another argument. This time he was scolding her for trusting strangers too easily…
