SALONI KAUL - POEMS

Saloni Kaul, author and poet, was first published at the age of ten and has been in print since on four continents. As critic and columnist Saloni has enjoyed forty one years of being published. Saloni Kaul's first volume, a fifty poem collection was published in the USA in 2009. Subsequent volumes include Universal One and Essentials All.

​SONNET MISCELLANY
SILENCE & ALL SYLLABIC !

​The solitary and silent by themselves all stay
And feed like melancholy long on thought
Until they think it wise to join the fray
And share the wise collection they have brought.
Like seabirds lonesome lead their own lives all
Year in and out in manner mode emphatic
Until they heed their offshore gatherings’ call ,
Their one and only social life activity bucolic.
Ah what a time of merriment it is ! all syllabic !
All squawk and shriek and flaunt of exhibitionistic traits,
A congregation wild in celebration rustic
Before in flocks they all fly off, migrate.
For miles on end the long winter evaders fly ,
Each evening, somewhere new, flocks fly up to surprise the sky.

SPRINGBOARD OF SENSATIONS

Loud visual rhythms all depicting dimensions,
A host of moods and bands of bright colour,
All generate a springboard of sensations
Where swift each turn each twist the whole alters.
The composition linear and compactly ordered
Acquires curves, curvacious all aspects ,
Banished are the unseemly hems bordered
Becoming sinuous, dynamic in prospect.
With those inclusions of extraneous elements
The world view stretches and perimeters lengthen stark clean.
We have beautiful unpredictable movement ,
And see from far what’s round the bend unseen.
Who can predict, with all that dash , all that verve,
The directions exact precise of the next curve ?

AUTUMN TREES & SKIES

Yearlong these gloriously flaming skies
With their ethereal rusts and pastel pinks
Vermilions and wildest rose-red outcries
Conquer with colours the ground slowly darkening to shades of ink.
Come autumn, however, the repeats and themes
All reverse and trees  transforming hue
And shade get the upper hand dramatic as in dreams
As they take on their newer look on cue.
This time the season sings in tones most unrestrained
And bright orange and rust leaves that glitter and sparkle
In the sun daylong practice session paint stained
Put on their best performance at close of day darkle.
Gushing forth with might and colour they look glazed
Ah how the autumn trees set sunset skies ablaze !
