It is time to admit that I cannot continue with this magazine anymore. I have been lying to myself that things might get better, and I would be able to keep the magazine alive.
However, after my accident in January 2022, things only got worse.
So, with much sadness and sorrow, I have to let you know that this incredible journey, which started in 2016, has come to an end.
I will continue to keep the website live so that all previous issues of the magazine can still be read.
I thank all the authors and readers that stuck with us for the last seven years. You brought joy to my soul, and I am confident you also did that for others.
A heartfelt thank you and a bittersweet goodbye to all of you.

I imagine you have been through quite an ordeal. I still have a contract with you with my book, Qandahar. I am looking forward to hearing from you about an accounting of book sales and royalty payments.

I'm so sorry about the accident and the ending of Scarlet Leaf. You've been a big help to writers such as myself. As an example where the odd "Vernonia Trilogy" ("Heresy", "Eagle", "Spenser" disappeared with another Toronto publication AWS, Scarlet Leaf picked them up. Now the three stories are published by Draft2Digital. Glad to see that the website will remain and hope that your condition improves.

Hello Roxana

Sadly, as I would check periodically (and come here to get the original link to "The Dinner Is Ruined", I could see this coming a mile away as no new issues were being distributed. I am SO SORRY that your health and other circumstances have prevented you from being consistent and thus, continuing the magazine. As you have announced this, I am currently looking for a "reprint" magazine that will take "The Dinner Is Ruined" at its 7K word count, and I thank you and Scarlet Leaf Review for kicking off my short story publications. I have since added five short stories to my credit. Once again, thanks for all you have done, and I wish you the best for your health and whatever future endeavours you may be planning.

Roxana, I was so sorry to hear about your injuries and sad that Scarlet Leaf Review is no longer. It was a thrill for me, in Miami for my son's wedding, to receive your acceptance of my novella, Rebirth. I had no idea where I was going to publish a long story about reincarnation and karma. I still have no idea, but I'm trying! I'm encouraged by the fact that somebody liked it enough to want to share it, though I just missed its publication by one issue! I hope you are feeling better and recovering after your accident. Thank you. (I curse my luck but I bless you!)

Roxanna-- I'm very late in realizing that you had discontinued SLR due to your accident. I am so, so, sorry, both for you and for the loss to the literary community. Many thanks for your support of my previous pieces in SLR. I am visualizing a miracle recovery for you, which perhaps will help.
