​Hexes on Bedchambers
 

KJ Hannah Greenberg has been playing with words for an awfully long time. ​Laying hexes on bedchambers comprises multifarious
Inconsistencies (regarding the sway of wrongdoings),
Per curried status, since altering peripheral outcomes
Often bring derived fictions and added make-believe.
 
Another matter, completely, is bewitching bathrooms,
Namely, impacting architecture past sleeping quarters,
Glamouring pipes (or the nearest resemblance thereof)
With wild, flightless birds, porpoises, orcas, manatees.
 
In the meantime, living rooms, to magically uninclined
(Plus to untalented wanna-bes), are nonentities, meager,
Ululating spaces, singing dull upholstery, chiming aloud
Over mirrors, side tables, paintings, plastic-coated ferns.
 
Without fairy dust, decorators fail to grasp in what way
Kitchens, necessarily, radiant no fledgling feelings-just
Familially developed traditions, wisdoms, insights into
Autonomous sensory meridian responses, moist greens.
 
Finally, libraries seem suitably elegant as to merit berths
On tankers (given mates’ exegeses), craft tailor bird-style
Nests from spittle. Yet, no room ever disparages habitual
Bedswervers resolutely frolicking in “torches and paper.”

 

​Swole

​Hypermasculinity, in its button down shirts, tight gym pants, eau-de-toilet,
Yaws among skirts, T-shirts, alternative forms of feminine allure, likewise
Focuses us on “important” barbicans protecting established gender divides.
 
Many sequela derive from those rubricking efforts, panty raids in the least,
Harassment litigation as the noisiest. After all, excusing misogyny as still
Another case of “cognitive mistakes,” mere “mistaken heteronyms,” rots.
 
For many crones, mothers, maidens, there’s no difference betwixt left shoes,
Right shoes, bare feet, no feet. These days, Panama's Darién Province is run
By bandits; Darién Gap’s forests, swampland seem of relative low concern.
 
Each to their own has private, break-ridden, Pan-American Highways, to
Their personal versions of anthropophagic neighbors, to their overestimates
Of objets, neoplasms, slumber parties, Socotra Island vacations, asparagus.
 
Society’ll stay queefed as along as purulent persons remain willing to lynch
The goodness from birthday cakes, anniversary cards, family reunions, dog
Shows, marriage counseling, fish frys, Girl Scout badges, red-eared sliders.

​Salivating over Some Other Murders (a Bouts-rimés)

​He might salivate over some other murder if he could find the envelope.
Such orotund presentations, colored by the likeness of flowers and oranges,
Transformed malevolent consciousness into street actions that telescoped
Those deeds of all manner of crazy, dirty persons, wounded and singed.
 
Yet, returning to one’s place of birth to retrieve a hankie or an eyelash
Made for forfeited interrogations, uncomfortable interviews, broken wires,
Cases of recyclers terminating corporeal materials, leaving glasses, mustaches,
Diminished nothingness inspired by no soothing stream, no raging fire.
Whether injected subcutaneously or intravenously, it’s morbid, underhanded,
To encourage amputations deemed unnecessary by other experts, to render
Vulnerable others susceptible to meshed broken cells, the rule of ampersands.
The resting places of most deceased get honored, such digs and mausoleums tender
Survivors’ feelings better than do imprisoning hatchet men, since the former’s photogenic
While the latter, like fruit found in a social bowl, weigh in less than split pomegranates.
