Stifled our rights guaranteed by constitution
Arrested when we protested against our land acquisition
Trampled our forest wealth by ruthless . exploitation
Imprisoned us on grounds of sedition
Muzzled our freedom to express opinion
Silenced our supporters through police action
Killed mercilessly indigenous adivasi men
Raped and molested helpless women .....
All your atrocities
We will pass to our future generation
Through these immortal plaques of inscription ......
And let them learn our struggles and rebellion
The courageous tradition of Jharkhandi
Through historic narratives on 'Pathalgadi' ....!
Pathalgadi is a giant plaque measuring 15 ft by 4ft with green paint and messages carved on them. The adivasi tribes used to erect a plaque after death of a person. They are now carrying the tradition to govern themselves. This is mainly followed in jharkhand state of India
When humans were defenceless
Against natural calamities
And wild animals ....
Slowly they learned to control
The nature's heart and soul
And surpass every animal ...
For centuries they survived
In their overzealous quest
To outsmart the rest
Began to loose trust
Among themselves ...but survived !
Now, they are dropping bombs
On men, women and tombs
Denying even bread crumbs
To their own ilk who survived ...?
Crushing their own species
Devouring their living spaces
Tearing human history to pieces
They seem to leave legacy to remind
That once upon a time humans survived
Struggles are not new
We are not new
We struggled to gather firewood
To cook food
Struggled to find shelter
From cruel animals and weather
Struggled against patriarchy and exploitation
Suppression of freedom of expression
And emerging ' threatenism '
Through the centuries
Our struggles took various forms
But continued unabated
And will continued unhindered
